So my 1993 WL has a seized seatpost since circa 1999. Tried a bunch of tricks to get it out with no luck...worried about cutting it out and ruining the paint in the process, as its a Leslie Purple color. Got a quote for over $1000 to remove and restore to O.G., yikes. Are frames worth...
Got brand new koolstop and try to get the cable low but need clearance, also get the pads to hit the rim straight-on or perpendicular. Was wondering if one spring side was stronger left / right? maybe overthinking it...
Setting up my Paul's cantilevers today after a cable housing switch...did their brakes always have "biased" springs from left to right? (see attached image). Replaced the springs a couple years ago with these new springs from Paul Components a couple years ago and still getting them dialed...
AGREE! I put an optional 3/8" spacer in the stack last week when I rebuilt it. Taking it out this weekend...we shall see. Or its the frame. Rode it for 25+ years with it this way. Just attached a pic of the way it was before fork restoration...it is about 1/2" lower...
1993 WL with Judy XC put on by me in 1995 or so. Just rebuilt the shox and put springs into the tubes, and damper rebuilt last week. I wanted the SL or DH but too much travel I was told at the time for this geometry.
1993 Wicked Lite #139 in Leslie's Purple. original owner.
Found the brand new Chris King 1" threaded at the LBS and my O.G shimano DX was a bit loose so why not for $150! Then had to tear apart the 1996 Judy XC rebuild the cartridge and replace the elastomers with springs. Next might be the...
Just got the bike from storage. The serial number is B168900 on the Judy...does this help identify the plastic vs metal body on dampener...hate to pull it apart before I have the parts to upgrade.
Running an OG rock shox Judy since 1995 on my 19" wicked lite 1993. Replaced the MCU with the kit that came with the fork about 10 years ago. Seems to run like stock but never messed with the oil cartridge which I assume is plastic. Looking at the upgrades on SRP. Steed Springs, metal...
Found this clamp in my parts bin. 99% sure it came off my 1993 WL in 1994 when i went Ringle'. $20
Dirt Research 1" front brake hanger removed when the Rock shox went on in 1995. $15
Shipping to US unless convinced otherwise. Paypal, venmo etc. Shipping extra
Yikes on the spikes! Running panaracers. Front is a new 2.1 dart, rear an NOS smoke lite 1.9. They work great on the new england trails. My rims are worn but true and no spoke "waves" but are 20+ years and would be fun to switch them out. What color/year is your WL
I was thinking the DX is cool and made very well. It was shimano's weird offering of a heavier and more durable XT. (this was pre XTR). Yes on the wheels...I have a nukeproof front hub with FIR rim, and xtr rear hub with a bontrager assymetrical rim replacement. Might replace the rims to...
Looking to switch out my original Shimano DX headset on my 1993 Wicked Lite. Its working perfect but always wanted a Chris King. I remember the head tube as a straight 1" diameter. Running a threaded control tech stem with Rock Shox Judy XC all original equipment. Any thoughts?
