Paint defect or the dreaded R word?

Hello fellas
Just picked up this Yo, which disappointingly a wee too big for me ( I guess this is M/L whilst my 95 IF is more S/M?)
Anyway...it is a used example, no garage queen etc but I am a little concerned about the condition of the paint around the top of the lhs seat-stay. It 'feels' more like a paint defect than R, whatcha think?

Welcome,
but I hate to say that it looks like rust 'veins' under the paint. Basically means surface rust, that should be addressed, but definitely is not a deal breaker on that frame. Nice looking Yo, all and all, I wouldn't be worried about any near future structural issues.:twocents:

Ah well, at least the seat-tube is fine
