The seatpost is custom ano'd promax... generic, right off BIN ebay... probably Taiwanese made.

The brakes are XC pro yes, and the stem is control tech painted to match.

This took awhile :)

just because i saw this i took mine for a short jaunt on the trails. it has such incredible balance on slow technical stuff it's unbelievable.

may i suggest kool stop red brake pads? not only they perform better than xc pros defaults but they are also red.

Not a bad idea. I have a pair of yellow kool-stops that I was thinking about, but the decals is the only thing they'd go with.

I'm surprised no one's commented on the gold BB locking collars. Aint no one doing that! (found at my local hardware store in the plumbing section).

Mainlyfats - thanks for the compliment!

everything inside me screams HATE IT - i mean "gold package"! but, somehow it is so tidy. so together. so coordinated. so matched. so synchronized. so harmonious. that i think it is one of the best builds i have seen. it might not seem like it - i'm speechless. looks like i have some work cut out for me on my Yo build.

thanks for sharing/inspiring,

Sette

Refreshing...!

Well lets face it you did something different than everyone else out there with the colour scheme..! It looks awesome..! A bit of inspiration for the rest of us to come up with something un-clone-like..!

That's way too much bike for you.
Are you sure you know what you're getting yourself in to.
You might be better served by just getting a new bike, say a Schiwnn or something.

I figured this didn't deserve a new thread since it isn't a new bike. Picked this bike up from ameybrook for my wife as she's now cleared to ride after her surgery, and she didn't have a bike anymore. It's got new wheels and tires, but otherwise it's the same ride. Wheels are what I had sitting around for now, until I can build her some new ones. Front is a Nuke Proof with sunset ano 217, rear is M900 XTR with silver 217. Michelin tires which my wife hates, so I need to put something else on soon. She won't like the saddle either, so her squishy girl seat will find its way on there soon too. Probably a shorter stem with higher rise too, most likely the Suntour stem I've been seeing on eBay recently.

A set of Timbuk II's from Jeff at First Flight would look nice on that.

I have a brand new set of skinwall Dart and Smoke II's, but those are going on my Bontrager :D. Maybe I'll buy some of those TimbukII's from Jeff, but I want to see how well the Michelins perform first.
