I am going to poweder coat my Yo Eddy and would like to get it as close to the Team Violet as possible. Anyone know the PMS or Pantone Color for this?
Thanks,
Jon
My 1990 Yo Eddy is due for a powdercoat. Since the frame has already been repaired and I don't have alot invested in it, I was thinking about having a local frame builder (Bernie Mikkesen) custom make and weld on a disc brake tab (he quoted me $200).
Some questions and potential downsides...
This is a 1990 Yo Eddy Medium which I bought off Craigslist with a White Industries Bottom Bracket and a 300mm unknown seatpost (no fork). Technically the frame is too small for me (I am 6' 1") but I thought I would build it up to see how rideable it is for me. Even though it's about 2" shorter...
I've had this 1990 Yo eddy frame for about a year. I bought it with no fork and a repaired chainstay. I managed to find a nice Judy 1" steerer tube & I have an older Judy XC fork. I know the frame is not suspension corrected geometry so am I making a big mistake by building it with a suspension...
I just watched "Klunkers" which is available through Netflix. It is a documentary about the history of Mountain Biking in Marin County California (just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco) from the early '70s to the early '80s. Without giving too much away it involves some key...

At 3:17 it appears that they open a beer bottle on the edge of a table that lies a Fat City Cycles Catalog. I am sure this was done intentionally although I am not sure of the meaning. Sorry if I am bringing up an old topic. Jon

I've never seen these before. Anyone know the origin and how rare these really are?
In roughly 1989 I did a multiple week bike ride through the YMCA from Westport, Connecticut to Montreal and Quebec city (I would have been 15). There was a kid on the ride who rode a flourecent green Fat Chance that he claimed he got because his dad produced the Mountain Dew Commercial in which...
i was planning on bidding but decided against it once they hit $38. They actually went for $58 which is 58% of what I paid for my Yo Eddy Frame! Yikes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180459093523&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123
Also I wonder how well they would actually...
I have now bought 3 Fats in 2 1/2 months (yes I am hooked!). For some reason they have all been purple! This latest one is an 18" Yo Eddy from '91 that's had a small weld repair where the drive side chain stain attaches to the drop out. Looks like it was done properly. The paint is rough but...

As many of you know the 26.4 seat post options are limited for the older Fats. I noticed these 400mm brand new alloy seat posts for $34 incl shipping...
I decided to buy the '94 Wicked ST (short Torso) that was on ebay. Paid $185 including shipping which seemed pretty fair to me (since it has a bottom bracket & seat post). Anyone know if this is an MA or NY bike? I am surprised that the Wicked still had downtube cable routing in 1994. Here...
I've noticed on some other (non fat chance) frames that I own, this hole is threaded. On my fat chance it's a larger diameter hole and is not threaded. Can anyone tell me what I should use to attach the plastic cable guide to this hole? Thanks, Jon
I bought this frameset on a whim because I really missed my 1987 Fat Chance which I sold in 1993 (replaced it with a 1993 Paramount Series R80). I found this 1990 Team Comp frame which I would have preferred in a slightly larger size but now I am thinking it might be just the right fit for me...
I'm restoring a 1990 Fat Chance Team Comp and need these three items:
A bottom Bracket Spindle (I have a new set of press in bearings). Also need the collars for the spindle.
A seat post
A seat Collar Clamp
Let me know what you've got.
Thanks,
Jon

I would like to trade this 1990 Fat Chance Team Comp for a comparable frame & fork of larger size. The measurements are as follows:
Seat Tube Center of BB to top of seat tube 18 3/4 inches
Seat Tube Cernter of BB to center of TT 17 1/4 inches
Top Tube Center to Center 22 inches
