Gotta admit that I'm stumped by the A as well. May have been an employee bike and they added the A to the SN. It's definitely a 1988 Fat with cantilevers. Since regular Fats at that time came with chainstay U-Brake mounts standard, the A may have been for seatstay cantilever mounts (which were standard on the 1988 Wickeds). That's my best guess gang

This is a bucket list bike that I'm so proud to own. I'm not 100% sure which paint scheme I'm going with.

Just to add what I wrote on the other thread, the black "paint" appears to be powder coat which we used on our standard frames up until we moved to Linden Street and had more room for a much better paint shop. Custom paint jobs done at Olive Square were typically shot over the powder coat (black or blue) which was hand scuffed so the Imron would adhere properly. Since your frame is kinda beaten up, I would recommend having the powder coat removed completely. Otherwise, you will be filling spots with body filler and then priming and painting. I know that is the cheaper way to go but if you can afford a pro paint job, then go for it
