Thought it was about time I gave my 2025 Yo a dedicated Build Thread..

So, here it is, I tweaked the Geo slightly to give the Frame the shorter HeadTube of 100mm of the Medium, but otherwise it's a standard Large..

Communication with Chris has been strained but he always replies and I have felt up to date as much as I have wanted to, he sent me a Photo of the Frame in the Jig prior to Welding..

..and then in the Finishing Stocks..

..and damn am I excited to receive it..!

I have just settled the Invoice for Shipping [fair] and Duty [ouch], so anticipating the Yo being in my Sweaty Palms in a week or so's time..

Forget a £20k Spesh, no modern ride is ever gonna look better than this when its done and of course it will still ride like a dream.

So, First Ride, and on a crisp, cold and clear November morning that happened to coincide with my Birthday. What a way to start the Day..
I have a Local Loop of about 25 Miles that is my Getaway Ride; grab a Bike, head out, don't even think about the route..

First stop at the Lake, this is where I get off the Blacktop and hit the Dirt.. I ride Gravel too, so riding a rigid Bike isn't an unusual experience, but something about a rigid MTB is so special, especially a Steel one, and even more uniquely with a Steel Rigid Fork..

Quick ride to other side of the Lake, and another excuse to stop and take a Photo..

The Cable Klampers really do take some getting used to; you certainly can't be in a hurry to stop.. Perhaps they'll bed in nicely, perhaps they'll bite more as they age.. Here's hoping..! ;) 🤪 :ROFLMAO:

Tyres are 2.35” Ground Controls, at 30psi.. I think I’m going to change the Stem to a Flat, possibly 10* Rise, 120mm length.. Shoulders took a hammering, weight a little too far forward and down..

But definitely going to keep it rigid.. It sets it apart in the Quiver..

25 Miles done, Legs pumped, Shoulders pumped, Heart filled.. What an amazing Bike, I absolutely love it..

Wonderful write up. As Ferris says “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it” He just needed to be riding a FAT to make the movie perfect 😁

It was the Perfect First Ride, and on a Weekday I had taken Off Work too, so very few people about.. Sunshine, that Cold Air Lung Burn, and the sense that I really didn't need to be anywhere else any time soon..
