Hello. I am not too techie, but built this bike in ‘93 and still rise it, but have killed the shock and bike shop just doesn’t care. I have the original rigid fork but can hit trails from the house and prefer suspension. Love this bike. Any suggestions?

Love the colour 😎 Not sure exactly which fork you have but these guys are good for replacing elastomers.

Failing that a Manitou 3/4 fork from that era would work well as they match the geometry and new elastomers are easy to come by. A good bike shop or a bit if DIY will help you out. It can be a mess inside as old elastomers degrade needing a good solvent and clean out. There are threads on how to do this and its not too hard.

Good luck with it.

Some more info - In 1993 all FCC frames had 1" head tubes. The "forks tube" is actually known as the "steerer tube". As Chevron pointed out his / her 1" fork would fit your frame, but since Chevrons fork is non-threaded and you have a threaded headset that fork wouldn't work without you changing the headset and stem also. There are older threaded suspension forks still around in okay shape, but finding them is getting more difficult every year. I have a few that may be suitable and will check. If so it will be available in the For Sale forum. Lastly there is also a Wanted forum here so if you are looking for an old part for your bike you can post that request there.
