Frame type : Wicked
Frame number: 10358 W
Year of manufacture: Late 1988
Frame size: 19.5
Color: Original Fat City custom grello and decal graphics under clear coat (except head tube decal)
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Owner name: J.S.

On October 23rd 1989 I purchased this Fat Chance new from The Wild Rose Bike & Ski Shop located in the Avenues of Salt Lake City, Utah, then I drove to the schoolyard with my little brother to ride it around a bit and he took pictures with a disposable camera, the 4th photo is a digitized versions that event, so it's not all that great.
As I recall this frame was a special order and it was refused because it was made with the under the chainstay U Brake configuration, then Tim (owner of The Wild Rose) acquired the frame and built it up as he saw fit.

Wicked chainstays are stiffer than seatstays so you get better breaking

Yeah I never had any issue with the chainstay U brake, in fact I like it but I've always been a fair weather rider so I've never had the mud issues that I think gave the U brake a bad reputation.

Easily solved for the better (seatstay) location ;)

Hey all, while I know of the chart of frame numbers on list over at First Flight Bikes (if you haven't seen Jeff's pages yet, check them out, there is some cool MTB history there), I am planning on assembling a comprehensive database and registry of Fats all over the world. Until I can get something a bit more self-supportive, I'd like this thread to be a collection of Fats.

Here's what we'd like from you for the registry...

Frame type (Yo!, Wicked, etc.):Fat
Frame number: A 00498 F
Year of manufacture: not sure
Frame size: 19
Color (original and repainted, if applicable):battle ship grey ?
Location (city, state, country):Farmingdale, Maine
Owner name:Steven Dean
Photo, if possible:

I know we couldn't get everything made out there, but it would be nice to begin the effort to track where these beautiful frames are. I'll begin with my newly acquired Wicked...
Not sure how to decipher this serial number !?? Any help would be much appreciated. Purchased from Facebook marketplace, for 200 bucks.
