1990 Wicked needs a new color - Open to suggestions

I have a metallic blue Wicked that is in desperate need of paint. The decals are cracked and faded, and there is some chipping and poor touch-ups that need to be brought back to life. First of all, is there a color chart from that period? Either way, I'm wide open to suggestions. But I'm not looking to clone a Yo Eddy.

Standard colors for 1990 Wickeds were Fluorescent Orange, Porsche Red, Black, and Kandy Wild Cherry.

I'd go for Fluorescent Orange

i have seen too many gulf livery inpired repaints on many vintage brands. Otoh from all the Fats it´s the wickeds which got the wildests, most ambitious, art like paintings: from colorfull to zebra or drawings... it´s always wild. There is one scheme i particular love that has each tube painted in a different color and i believe Fat Chance has redone it in their actual frames. I would try that

I will have to find a photo of it to post, but my 1987 Wicked had a "partial" harlequin paint job done by Hoss Rogers.

The main triangle was all white and the seatstays and chainstays were harlequin red and blue. Also, my box crown fork was harlequin red and blue.
I used black decals for some contrast.

Kinda wish I had kept it that way but it was getting beaten up. The second paint job was all black and I put a unicrown fork on it then. Urban camo was kind of in vogue then and some folks had their personal Fats getting ripped off after word was getting out about how good (and expensive) our bikes were. No decals and all gloss black Imron.

The third (and current) paint job is Last Page Pink (i forget which year catalog that was) aka Dusky Rose that Mike Flanigan shot for me when it was becoming clear that Somerville was going to close. He did cleared-over decals for me and also painted my box crown and the lower legs of my RockShox Mag 21 to match. It's a lighter shade than the Kandy Wild Cherry.

I was thinking I might have to sell off the Wicked when FCC closed but I had no idea I was about to walk into a job that immediately paid twice as much as what I was making welding frames. Luckily, I have kept it all these years and I really like the color.

The photos are just what I had in my phone this morning. Maybe I will take better ones later on.

Have fun with the restoration and do what makes you happy with it. That was always our philosophy but we always understood that not every customer was in a position to be able to afford that level of personalization.

Thanks, Scott! I deduced from earlier threads that there's pretty good chance you actually welded this frame, 078W09 (not that you tracked that). Maybe you can sign the frame when it's done! I get back to Mass about once or twice a year.

Received my decals from Retro this afternoon and had to put them on right away. Decided to go with the color shift paint, but kept it close to the original blue.

Nice. Where is the fork?
I have an original RS1 that I’m rebuilding. Retro had decals for that too, so it’s period appropriate. Would like the look of a rigid fork but I’m not going to buy another one right now. I’d welcome donations though.
