Can anyone tell me what the "Don't tread on me - Made in Masachusetts", rattlesnake on the stars and stripes decal at the base of the seat tube signifies.
Hi Amey - Thanks, yes, it is a nice Buck. I wondered whether to post this picture though ... I'm embarrased about the steerer tube; the photo was taken while I was experimenting with handlebar height!
Fat-Tony - Thanks for the link to the history site. Very interesting.
yup. i know it's none of my businness... but that set up is against all common sense. while you are at it please center the saddle rails on the post.. just for the pic. sorry. i know it's your bike.

i am not doubting it's fat city pedigree and the painting is one of the most beautifull i ever seen.

It is unique. Even details like the tubes for the chain- and seatstays are split evenly, with silver on one side, charcoal on the other. I grew up in MA, and went to college with a part-time employee, when they were still in Somerville. He bought one of the first Ti frames that Gary Helfrich built, and we often rode together in the Pioneer Valley. His steel Fat is what spurred me to buy mine.
